I’m Tanner Smith, the founder of Doulos. I grew up working for my father moving houses and helping on the family ranch. This gave me a good understanding of hard work and instilled a strong work ethic that I continue to live out today. When I turned 18 I wanted to venture out of the family business and I hired on to a company in Kansas that builds feedlots. There I gained priceless experience and quickly became foreman despite my age. I helped execute 40,000 yard dirt jobs, 2000 yard concrete pours, and miles of fence. Eventually I decided it was time to move closer to home and I got a construction manager job in Colorado. There I managed large dairy expansions and got my first experience with large pipe laying, installing 18″ and 24″ PVC for flush drains along with paving free stanchion lanes and erecting 200 acre fab onsite steel buildings. I have always wanted to start my own company and this job helped me realize that I was ready, so in December of 2024 I started Doulos.
